FS17 SiloKing

The SiloKing SelfLine Compact 1612 is a type of Mixer Wagon in Farming Simulator 17. This is a very expensive model, but it is completely self-sufficient - capable of moving under its own power, loading its own materials, and dumping its cargo without needing to be connected to any other machine. Its extra features may or may not justify the high price-tag, as it is otherwise functionally identical to the much-cheaper SiloKing TrailedLine Duo 1814.

Advantages[]

  • Self-Propelled: The SelfLine Compact 1612 has its own engine. It can move from place to place under its own power, at a relatively good speed. It can also power itself for mixing and unloading materials, without needing to be hitched to any other vehicle.
  • Self-Loading: The SelfLine Compact 1612 features a pickup header which can suck Straw, Hay and Silage directly from Piles on the ground, and does not need a separate Loader to load those materials into it. At the same time, it can also be filled by a Loader when it is more suitable to do so (e.g. when the only available materials are in Bale form), so no functionality is lost.
  • Highly Maneuverable: The SelfLine Compact 1612 has a small, narrow pair of wheels at the back for steering, and these wheels can turn a full 90 degrees to the left or right. This allows the machine to make extremely tight turns - virtually turning in place. This is very handy in tight spaces, such as those typically found near the Cow Pasture on the vanilla maps.

Disadvantages[]

  • Very Expensive: The SelfLine Compact 1612 costs $121,000, which is almost 3 times as much as the cheaper SiloKing TrailedLine Duo 1814. The only advantages you get for this money are the ones listed above, and they may or may not justify this high cost, depending on your play style.
  • Low Pickup Rate: The rate at which a SelfLine Compact 1612 sucks in materials is rather low, but its maximum driving speed is very high. This means that you should not drive very quickly over piles (or rows) of material while trying to pick them up - it may end up leaving much of that material behind. Drive slowly forwards, at no more than 5 km/h / 3 mph, for the best results.
